INJALBERT Jean Antoine (1845-1933)


He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris under Dumont ans start presenting busts and mythology inspired subjects at the Salon from 1871. His realism reminds of Dalou. In 1874, after receiving the Prix de Rome, his carreer became official. Although he started with an academic style, he later evolves to Art Nouveau. He worked on many monuments such as the Sorbonne, Orsay train station, the Petit Palais and the Mirabeau bridge in Paris. Many of his works are made out of bronze and cast by Valsuani, Hébrard and others.
