PARAYRE Henri (1879-7970)


After studying in the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, Parayre moves to Paris to take sculpture classes with Dubois. His Art Nouveau style wooden elegant women are quickly exhibited and he moves bback to Toulouse in 1902. From 1927, he starts sculpting monuments and becomes, in 1937, at the Exposition Internationale, one of the “Maitres de l'Art Indépendant”. He works with precious woods, terra cotta or stone. His bronzes are cast by Valsuani or Carvillani.
