XIX - XXth century sculptures

ROCHARD Irénée (1906-1984)

Son of a painter, he comes to study in parisian Art Decoratifs with Dubois and Zelikson. His first presentation is a life-size “Panthère”. He is inspired by the stylisation of Pompon and the naturalism of Sandoz, two close friends. His work is often exhibited at the Salon and features not only busts but many animal sculptures, trying to pay tribute to them. He works on most of his bronzes, helped by his son who still edits some of them.
